About This Course

Black Diamond is a nine-hole course built directly on Alaskan tundra at mile 247 of the George Parks Highway in Healy, eight miles north of the Denali National Park entrance. It is one of the northernmost golf courses in the world and the only course for over 100 miles in any direction.

The layout plays 2,732 yards at par 34 over terrain with little topsoil. Hazards are distinctly Alaskan — moose-hoof prints in the fairways, tundra marsh, and a local fox known for stealing balls off the second green. The course sits next to Otto Lake, with panoramic mountain views and wildflowers surrounding every hole.

Black Diamond is part of a resort that also operates a restaurant serving Alaskan seafood and steaks, ATV backcountry tours, and draft horse-drawn covered wagon rides. The course is open to the public during the summer season, and the combination of golf and proximity to Denali makes it a stop for visitors touring Interior Alaska.
