Arkansas Golf Courses
Arkansas has nearly 190 golf courses with some of the lowest green fees in the country. The Ozark Mountains in the northwest produce hilly, wooded layouts with real elevation changes, and the Fayetteville-Bentonville corridor has added courses as the region has grown. Bella Vista alone has five courses spread across its retirement community in the hills. Rogers, Springdale, and Fort Smith contribute public and private options along the western edge of the state.
Hot Springs Village in the Ouachita Mountains is the state’s most concentrated golf destination, with seven courses at various price levels inside a single gated community. Little Rock anchors central Arkansas with a solid mix of public and private clubs, including Burns Park and Chenal Country Club. Cabot, Conway, and Sherwood nearby provide additional options at Standard and Economy pricing. The eastern delta region is flat and open, with smaller towns like Jonesboro, Pine Bluff, and Wynne each maintaining courses on level ground. Texarkana on the state’s southwest border has its own cluster.
The season runs March through November, with spring and fall offering the best conditions. Summers bring heat and humidity, especially in the southern lowlands, but courses stay open. Winters are mild enough that many courses in the central and southern parts of the state see play year-round, though the Ozark towns may lose a few weeks to cold snaps. Most public courses charge well under $50, and even premium layouts stay below what comparable courses cost in neighboring Tennessee or Texas. The mix includes a healthy number of 9-hole courses in smaller communities, keeping golf accessible across rural areas.
