Magellan Golf Club

Magellan Golf Club started as a three-hole golf school before the Hot Springs Village Property Owners Association expanded it to a full 18-hole course in 1996. Playing 6,494 yards from the back tees at par 72, with a slope of 131 and rating of 72.2, Magellan packs more challenge into its shorter yardage than the numbers might suggest. The Champion Tif-Dwarf bermuda greens are famously tricky, demanding careful reads and touch around the putting surfaces.

The club is one of six golf courses in the Hot Springs Village system and is open to the public. Its practice facilities rank among the best in the community, featuring a large driving range, a putting green, and several short game areas. Magellan plays a bit shorter than its sister courses, which has made it a favorite among female golfers and those who prefer a strategy-focused round over a pure distance test.
