Fred Enke Golf Course

Fred Enke Golf Course is a Tucson city-operated 18-hole layout on East Irvington Road, playing 6,809 yards at par 72. Unlike the more traditional El Rio course in the city system, Fred Enke uses a desert-style design with natural desert areas, cacti, and minimal turf between the fairways. A driving range is available for practice.

As part of the Tucson City Golf system, Fred Enke offers standard pricing for a near-7,000-yard course. The southeast Tucson location sits among other courses like Rolling Hills and Dorado. The target-style desert layout requires careful shot placement off the tee, as errant balls end up in native desert rather than rough, adding a penalty for inaccuracy.
