Lahontan Golf Club

Lahontan Golf Club is a private 18-hole, par-72 course that stretches 7,214 yards in the mountains near Truckee. The course has a driving range, and elite-tier pricing reflects its exclusive residential community setting. The long yardage at high elevation means the ball carries farther in the thin mountain air, but the Sierra Nevada terrain introduces tight corridors through pine forests.

The club is on Lodgetrail Drive in Truckee, near the north shore of Lake Tahoe. Martis Camp and Schaffer’s Mill are the closest courses. Truckee’s mountain climate means the golf season runs roughly from late spring through early fall, as winter brings heavy snowfall. The elevation and forested surroundings give this course a markedly different feel from the valley and desert courses found elsewhere in California.
