Schaffer's Mill

Schaffer’s Mill is an 18-hole course playing 7,100 yards at par 71 in the Sierra Nevada mountains. At this altitude, the ball carries farther than at sea level, which offsets some of the yardage. The terrain is mountainous and wooded, with pine trees framing the fairways and views of the surrounding peaks. A driving range is on site.

The course is located off Heartwood Drive in Truckee, just north of Lake Tahoe. It operates at the luxury pricing tier and is part of a private residential community. The playing season is limited by mountain weather, typically running from late spring through fall. Lahontan Golf Club and Martis Camp are among the neighboring courses in the Truckee-Tahoe corridor.
