Lake Waramaug Country Club

Lake Waramaug Country Club traces its origins to an 1898 four-hole golf course on the same land it occupies today in New Preston. The club formally organized in 1903 when the layout was extended to nine holes. The current par 35 course plays 3,128 yards with a slope of 124, delivering more challenge than its length suggests through tight fairways, thick rough, and fast, medium-sized greens.

As a private non-equity club, Lake Waramaug draws members from the scenic Litchfield Hills region of northwest Connecticut. The driving range supports pre-round warmups, and the club operates with a traditional country club atmosphere. The rolling terrain and mature trees along Golf Links Road give the course a distinctly New England feel, set in one of the quieter corners of the state near the shores of its namesake lake.
