About This Course
Sunset Hill Golf Club in Brookfield has an unusual origin: Gene Sarazen, one of only five golfers to complete the career Grand Slam, designed the nine-hole course in 1936 as a personal practice facility while staying at his Brookfield residence. He began opening it to the public in the late 1930s, and the family-owned operation has continued serving the community ever since.
The par-35 layout plays 2,394 yards and features three ponds along with sand traps and bunkers that add challenge to the short holes. Walking is common on the flat-to-gently-rolling terrain, and carts are available as well. A small cafe serves food and beverages, and a pro shop stocks essentials. Sunset Hill’s connection to Sarazen gives it a distinctive place in Connecticut golf history.
