Lacoma Golf plays 18 holes at par 69, covering 5,552 yards. The course occupies the hilly terrain of the Driftless Area in far northwest Illinois, near East Dubuque along the Mississippi River. A driving range is available, and the below-standard par and shorter yardage make for a quicker round.

East Dubuque sits directly across the Mississippi from Dubuque, Iowa, at the point where Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin meet. Standard pricing is reasonable for the tri-state area. Dubuque Golf and Country Club on the Iowa side is one of the nearest alternatives. The rolling bluffs and river valley topography of the Driftless Area give Lacoma a hillier playing experience than most Illinois courses, which tend to occupy flatter ground.
