Barnes Brook Golf Course traces back to 1963 when James Plourde Sr. and his son Henry began building what was originally called Green Valley Golf Course. The nine-hole layout opened for play in 1964 along Route 2 in West Enfield, and the Barnes Brook name followed in 1965.
