Sedalia Country Club

Sedalia Country Club was formed in 1905 by 67 charter members who initially built a course on Missouri State Fairgrounds land. The club has a notable connection to golf history: Horton Smith, the first Masters champion and future PGA president, served as club pro starting in 1927. A tornado destroyed the original location on South Limit in May 1977, and the club relocated by purchasing Walnut Hills Country Club, gaining an 18-hole course at its current site on Highway Y.

The par-70 layout plays 6,084 yards and operates as a private club with premium-level amenities. A driving range supports practice, and the facility serves as a social hub for the Sedalia community in Pettis County. The club’s 120-year history and connection to Horton Smith give it a depth of golf heritage unusual for a mid-Missouri town of this size.
