Balsam Mountain Preserve

Balsam Mountain Preserve is an elite 18-hole, par-70 course playing 6,824 yards at high elevation in the Balsam Mountains near Sylva. The layout follows ridgelines and valleys with dramatic drops and climbs between holes. At over 3,500 feet, the mountain air and cooler temperatures create comfortable summer playing conditions and long ball flight.

This is an elite-tier private community, and access is limited to members and invited guests. The preserve encompasses thousands of acres of forested mountain land west of Asheville, between the Blue Ridge Parkway and Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Sequoyah National and Maggie Valley Resort are among the few other courses in this remote section of western North Carolina.
