White Pines Country Club

White Pines Country Club is a nine-hole course in Mount Airy, the Surry County seat near the Virginia border in the northern Piedmont foothills. The layout plays 3,540 yards at par 36, with rolling terrain and pine trees. There is no driving range on the property.

Green fees are at the economy level. Mount Airy, known as the inspiration for Mayberry in The Andy Griffith Show, has a small golf scene. Pine Ridge Classic Golf Course is the other local option. White Pines provides an affordable, low-key round in a part of the state where golf courses are fewer and farther between than in the metro areas to the south.
