Wildwood Golf Course

Wildwood Golf Course was built by Bill O’Meara, who rescued the property from a proposed landfill conversion in 1989. The 18-hole course opened around 1991 on land edging the hills of Portland’s Forest Park, about 20 minutes northwest of downtown along Highway 30. At 5,756 yards, the par-72 layout is shorter than most full-length courses but makes up for it with tight, tree-lined corridors through towering Douglas firs and a hilly terrain that demands precise shot placement.

The quiet valley setting along NW Saint Helens Road gives Wildwood a secluded feel despite its proximity to the city. A driving range is on site, and premium-level green fees reflect the quality of the playing experience. The course draws steady play from Portland-area golfers looking for a round away from the more congested suburban facilities to the south and west.
