Whitmire Golf Association

Whitmire Golf Association operates a nine-hole par 35 course covering 2,778 yards on Golf Alley Road. The layout plays through rolling Piedmont terrain with pine-and-hardwood borders and a creek that crosses several holes. There is no driving range, and green fees are in the economy tier. The short yardage and relaxed atmosphere make it a neighborhood course in the truest sense.

Whitmire is a small town in Newberry County, about 20 miles north of the city of Newberry in the rural Midlands-Upstate transition zone. The golf association is community-run, and the course provides a simple, inexpensive place for residents to play without the hour-plus drive to larger courses in Columbia or Greenville.
