Highmore Golf Course

Highmore Golf Course sits two miles west of town on 198th Avenue in Hyde County. The nine-hole par-27 layout plays just 890 yards, making it one of the shortest courses in South Dakota. All nine holes are par 3s, so the focus is squarely on iron play and putting. The flat prairie setting means wind is the primary obstacle on an otherwise straightforward track.

Green fees are $15 for nine holes or for the entire day, making this one of the most affordable places to play in the state. A men’s league runs on Tuesday evenings during the summer. Highmore is the Hyde County seat, located along US Highway 14 roughly halfway between Pierre and Huron. The course serves a small but dedicated local golfing community and provides a low-pressure environment for players of any ability.
