Leola Golf Course

Leola Golf Course is a nine-hole layout three miles west of Leola in McPherson County, playing 2,350 yards to a par of 31. The course uses artificial turf greens, a practical choice for a small community course in north-central South Dakota where maintaining natural bent grass greens would be costly. The club built a new clubhouse in 2014 with a full kitchen, handicapped-accessible restroom, and updated heating and cooling. A 14-stall golf cart storage shed followed in 2016, with additional storage added in 2018.

Weekly league nights run through the summer, with ladies playing on Wednesdays and men on Thursdays. Several tournaments are held each season as well. The clubhouse is available for private rental at $100 per day. Green fees are economy-priced, keeping the course accessible for the farming and ranching community that supports it.
