Medicine Creek Golf Course

Medicine Creek Golf Course is a public nine-hole course near Presho in Lyman County. The nine holes play 3,037 yards to a par of 36, and green fees run around $25 with carts at $10. A driving range and putting green handle practice needs, and the course is open to the public. Casey Griffith manages the operation.

Presho sits along Interstate 90 in central South Dakota, and the course takes its name from nearby Medicine Creek. The prairie terrain offers wide-open playing corridors, but the wind off the plains adds difficulty that the flat layout might not otherwise suggest. This is a community-supported course that provides an affordable golf option for travelers crossing the state on I-90 as well as for the local population in this sparsely settled stretch of the Missouri River country.
