Bow Creek Golf Course

Bow Creek Golf Course was a municipal facility in Virginia Beach that the city acquired from a private country club and opened to the public in 1975. The par-70 course played 6,000 yards with narrow Bermuda fairways, bent grass greens, several doglegs, and a creek winding through mature oak trees. It served as one of the city’s affordable public golf options for nearly five decades.

Bow Creek closed in 2022, and the City of Virginia Beach has since converted the property into a stormwater management park, expected to be completed by 2030. The loss of Bow Creek reduced the number of municipal courses available in Virginia Beach, with Kempsville Greens now carrying more of the public golf load. The course is no longer in operation.
