Galax Municipal Golf Course

Galax Municipal Golf Course has roots going back to 1925, making it one of the older public courses in southwest Virginia. The nine-hole layout covers 65 acres and plays 3,015 yards at par 36, operated by Galax Parks & Recreation. Economy-level green fees and a public-access model make it the most affordable golf option in the Galax area. Twenty gas-powered carts are available for those who prefer to ride.

The course sits in Carroll County near the Blue Ridge Parkway, in a region better known for old-time music festivals than golf. There is no driving range on the property. A banquet room in the clubhouse is available for private events. The municipal course provides a no-frills round of golf in a mountain setting, serving locals and Blue Ridge visitors who want a quick nine without a big investment of time or money.
