The course sits in Douglas County in far northern Wisconsin, where the terrain features gentle hills and mixed forest.

Located on Golf Course Road in Poplar, about 20 miles south of Superior, the course is priced at the Economy tier. Minnesuing Acres Golf Course and Norwood Golf Course are the nearest alternatives, with Nemadji Golf Course closer to the Superior-Duluth metro area. The combined golf and campground operation gives visitors a place to play and stay in one spot. Poplar’s rural, northern location means a short playing season, but the low cost and campground pairing make it a practical stop for traveling golfers.
